Greetings!
The Writing Program Administrators – Graduate Organization (WPA-GO) is excited to announce a special election for the Master’s Representative position. Please share this call with Master’s graduate students in your organizations and universities, especially those interested in writing studies and/or administrative careers!
Serving as a leader of WPA-GO is a great way to gain writing program administration experience, network with professional and aspiring WPAs, and participate in cross-institutional professional development with other graduate students. Those on the Leadership Council have a hand in crafting the programming WPA-GO offers to graduate students, ensuring that we are doing our advocacy work in actively anti-racist, inclusive, and intentional ways, and shaping the organization’s movement forward. The Master’s Representative also elevates the concerns and issues particular to those newer to their graduate journeys in writing studies!
For details on WPA-GO’s Leadership Council positions and duties, you can visit our site here and read our bylaws here. Please note that the term for this position will be one year running from August 2023 through July 2024. Applicants must have at least one full academic year left in their Master’s program to be eligible for this position.
Master’s students interested in the position can submit their application materials to our WPA-GO 2023-24 Leadership Council Application Form! Applications are due by 11:59 PM Central on June 30th. Voting for this position will move forward when we have a sufficiently robust candidate pool, which must include at least two candidates who self-identify as part of historically excluded or marginalized communities.
