The Global Society of Online Literacy Educators (GSOLE), a community of experts in online literacy practices, is offering a Basic Online Literacy Instruction (OLI) Certificate to help teachers and tutors new to online learning implement research-based practices in online courses and online writing centers.
The certification program is designed to support the instructional work of anyone teaching reading and writing, such as instructors teaching composition, professional writing, literature, creative writing, writing-intensive courses in majors across the disciplines, as well as writing center tutors and English teachers in middle and high schools.
There are two ways to engage with this program:
• Pay one flat registration rate to complete the full certification at a flexible pace that ranges from one to three years (see our tiered rates ranging from $100-$200 depending on participant self-reported salary)
• Pay $25 per OLI topic to complete modules. Earn microcredentials or build up to full certification over time
Modules take up topics like justifying your OLI practice, assessing online literacy learning, inclusive and accessible online literacy instruction, and building your professional ePortfolio, among others.
Hoping to enroll a group of faculty from your institution? Email certification administrators Dr. Kevin DePew (kdepew) and Dr. Amy Cicchino (CicchinA) for institutional enrollment options.
Sincerely,
Amy Cicchino, PhD (she/hers)
