Job: TT assistant professor of position at ERAU Daytona Beach

The Department of Humanities & Communication at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Daytona Beach campus invites applicants for a tenure-track position as assistant professor of speech and technical communication. You can review the full job call and apply online, but some is excerpted below.

We seek a tenure-track assistant professor with a Ph.D. in Communication, Technical Communication, English, Rhetoric & Composition, or related fields. Applicants who are ABD with dissertations near completion and who are scheduled to graduate before August 2024 will also be considered. The successful candidate must have a record of productivity in scholarly presentations and publications that demonstrate the potential to sustain high-quality research in technical and professional communication or digital media.

Teaching duties, to begin August 2024, include a combination of general education courses such as speech, technical writing, and professional communication, as well as contributions to a STEM-focused Communication degree program. Candidates must have a record of teaching excellence. Service responsibilities could include participation on departmental, college, and university committees and other activities to support the department. The first-year course load will be 3/3 with the expectation of active research.

In addition to offering general education courses in writing, humanities, and communication at a STEM-focused university, the department delivers academic programs in Communication and Interdisciplinary Studies, with minors in Humanities, Communication, Latin American Studies, Arabic Studies, Russian Studies, and Chinese Studies. The department has 35 full-time faculty members.
