Dear Colleague,
We are reaching out to request that you encourage your students to apply for the University of Kansas English Department’s “Sneak Peek” program, which invites students interested in our PhD and MA graduate programs to campus for an in-person and virtual visit.
Our department offers a strong roster of potential faculty mentors, especially for those who seek scholars of color to help direct their work in literary studies, creative writing, and rhetoric and composition, including Giselle Anatol, Marta Caminero-Santangelo, Darren Canady, Silvia Park, Pritha Prasad, and the two of us.
KU’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences also features PhD, MA, and certificate graduate-level programs in African American studies, Indigenous studies, American studies, and Women, Gender, and Sexuality studies, and many faculty in those units offer courses of interest to our department’s graduate students.
If you know students applying to graduate programs this academic year whom you think might benefit from receiving more information about our programs, please forward this message to them.
Please encourage them to apply to our Sneak Peek, scheduled for November 30 – December 1, 2023, by filling out the brief application here (due October 30).
We look forward to welcoming students to campus for an all-expense paid visit or for our complementary virtual program.
Yours sincerely,
Ayesha Hardison
