Dear colleagues:
The Department of English at Colorado State University seeks applicants for a tenured position as Writing Program Administrator (WPA) with experience commensurate to appointment at the rank of tenured associate or full professor. We especially encourage candidates committed to equity-driven administration and teaching who possess scholarly expertise in writing studies (broadly construed), including an active research program in cultural rhetorics, writing across the curriculum/writing in the disciplines (WAC/WID), professional and technical communication (PTC), digital and multimodal rhetorics, and/or community literacy. Preference will be given to candidates who are well versed in social, cultural, and linguistic diversity and possess previous experience in an executive leadership role as senior administrator of a university writing program.
This is a 9-month tenured position with initial appointment as WPA for a five-year term beginning July 1, 2024. Throughout the term, the WPA teaches two courses per year with two course releases for program administration. The WPA receives two months of summer salary for program administration. Following the initial term as WPA, the successful candidate will have an opportunity for re-appointment to a second term or will return to a tenured faculty load, teaching four courses a year in addition to research and service.
To ensure full consideration, applications should be submitted before November 27, 2023. The full job description can be found by visiting https://jobs.colostate.edu/postings/135432.
