Event: CCCC Wikipedia Initiative

Greetings from the CCCC Wikipedia Initiative!

We are excited to invite you to our November event, Friday Nov. 10, 11am PT / 2pm ET featuring Dr. Jennifer Johnson and Dr. Matthew Vetter.

Cracking the Wikipedia Code: Identifying and Problem-Solving Common Challenges to Scholarly Wikipedia Editing

While Wikipedia and academic disciplines in the humanities and social sciences share common educational goals, tensions still exist between the two, which can lead to distrust and burnout from academic editors. This talk will investigate the contextual background of these tensions as understood by the CCCC Wikipedia Initiative and provide useful pathways for fostering understanding between Wikipedia and scholarly values. Following the discussion by Dr. Jennifer Johnson, Dr. Matt Vetter will share editorial strategies via a live Wikipedia edit.

Space is limited. Register to reserve a spot on EventBrite:
