Hi TYCA Friends,
The National Council of Teachers of English Convention will be held from November 16 to 19 in Columbus, Ohio. TYCA National will have two events for members. On Saturday, November 18 from 8:15 to 9:30, TYCA will have a strategic planning meeting for anyone who has a leadership role in TYCA National or in a TYCA regional association, including both elected representatives and members of committees. We will work on national priorities for TYCA, share ideas for online resources, and plan events for the upcoming year. If you aren’t yet a TYCA leader but have ideas for TYCA National events and programming, you are welcome to attend the Saturday morning meeting.
From 1:25 to 2:30 on Saturday, November 18, we will have a TYCA member gathering. Participants will learn about opportunities for getting involved in TYCA National, regional affiliates, and other organizations for two-year college literacy educators. If you plan to attend the NCTE Convention, this event will be a good opportunity for you to connect with other members of TYCA and start making connections with others who share similar interests. This event is open to all members of NCTE.
The NCTE College Section has organized two additional activities that might interest TYCA members: a college section get-together from 5:30 to 7:00 on Thursday, November 16 and a workshop on concurrent enrollment on Saturday, November 18 from 2:30 to 5:30.
