I realize that we’re all moving quickly towards the end of another semester, so apologies for adding another message to your inboxes, but I wanted to send out a wee reminder that there is still time to submit nominations for the Nell Ann Pickett Service Award.
Each year, we honor an exemplary two-year college instructor who embodies the legacy of Dr. Nell Ann Pickett, one of the founding members of TYCA. Nell Ann was a consummate professional, wholly dedicated to her students and to supporting and advancing the work of teaching English in two-year colleges.
Do you know someone who represents the best of two-year college teaching, someone who has made a major impact on the work we do as teachers of English at two-year colleges? Does their teaching represent such "outstanding personal qualities as creativity, sensitivity, and leadership"? If so, please consider nominating them for the 2024 Nell Ann Pickett Service Award.
The 2024 award recipient will be honored at both the National TYCA Conference and the annual CCCC Awards Ceremony in Spokane next April. They will receive a plaque and free registration to that year’s conference.
