Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College seeks applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor of English positions to teach composition. The English & Communication Department is actively engaged in promoting equity and inclusion in composition courses.

Essential Functions

  • Teaching four sections of writing per semester (a 4/4 load), including but not limited to co-requisite composition (Accelerated Learning Program), English Composition, and Intermediate Composition.
  • Participating in program assessment and curriculum development.
  • Participating in department, college, and university service, such as serving on the composition steering committee, the department DEI committee, the college technology committee, and/or the college faculty development committee.
  • Engaging in professional and scholarly activities such as presentations at scholarly venues, publication in relevant professional publications, publication of creative works, or other scholarly methods of disseminating knowledge

Minimum Requirements

Prior to the effective date of the appointment, all of the following are required:

  • A doctorate degree in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or a closely related field.
  • At least three academic years of experience teaching composition at the college level.
