CFP: Generative AI in writing instruction, IWCA Collaborative@CCCC (due Feb. 12)

Writing Center folks and other interested colleagues,

The Int’l Writing Centers Association holds an annual one-day (in-person) conference at the Conference on College Composition and Communication. This year our attention has turned to generative AI and writing centers/writing instruction.

Our call for proposals is available here. (https://writingcenters.org/events/2024-iwca-collaborative/)

Deadline for proposals to participate is February 12, end of day.

Our goal: To gather and engage in conversation about the development of generative AI, in particular how it’s shaping the work we do in writing centers and writing instruction and how student writers have begun to incorporate generative AI into their writing processes.

You do not have to identify as an “AI expert” to participate fully as a presenter, facilitator, or audience member. We encourage the AI-curious, AI-novices, AI-suspicious, and AI-hopeful-but-with-healthy-skepticism to join us in conversation. We hope to come together to learn from each other and to leave with more questions to take top our home campuses and institutions.

Please consider joining us on April 3 at Gonzaga University. More information about proposals and registering here. (https://writingcenters.org/events/2024-iwca-collaborative/). Registrants or proposers who are not members of IWCA can create a free account here, which is required to register or submit a proposal. IWCA members can log in to their accounts and submit a proposal and register here. (https://www.iwcamembers.org/manage.php )
