Dear Colleagues,
The English Department at Utah State University Tooele (~30 miles from Salt Lake City) is accepting applications for a teaching-centered, tenure-track Assistant Professor of English in Composition Studies with a specialization in first-year composition to begin August 2024. Experience teaching professional communication at the lower-division level is strongly preferred. Additional areas of specialization within first-year composition can include multimodal and/or digital writing, translingualism, transformative pedagogies, or other areas of expertise related to the position. This fully-benefitted position carries a 3-3 teaching load, primarily in composition; the position also carries a secondary research load. The candidate will join a Statewide department committed to transformative pedagogies and equal opportunities for all students.
To encourage a wide range of applicants, the initial application requires simply a CV, cover letter, and the names and email addresses of three references. For guaranteed consideration, applications should be submitted by February 26th. The full job description, as well as information about our department and university, can be found at https://careers-usu.icims.com/jobs/7499/assistant-professor-of-english-in-composition-studies/job.
I’m chairing the committee, and I’m happy to answer any questions about the position at beth.buyserie. You can also reach out to committee members Chen Chen, Jessica Rivera-Mueller, or Jason Olsen.
Thanks,
Beth
