At the 2024 TYCA National conference, Joanne Baird Giordano announced the launch of new Professional Networks. A network provides opportunities for members with similar interests and areas of professional work to share resources, engage collaboratively in professional development, seek help with questions and work issues, and communicate with and support each other.
We are thrilled to invite you to participate in the TYCA Writing Placement Network. Individuals at all levels of writing placement work are welcome to join.
The TYCA Writing Placement Network’s mission is to share forward-looking and meaningful resources that recognize the possibilities and impacts of placement, as well as to develop a community of action and scholarship among people interested in ethical English placement practices at two-year colleges.
Jessica Nastal (College of DuPage) and Kris Messer (Community College of Baltimore County) are co-chairs. Plans are in development for the 2024–2025 academic year; all members will have access to a listserv and will be informed of announcements and opportunities throughout the year.
