October 24-26, 2024 Metropolitan Community College in Omaha will host our second annual conference on Teaching Creative Writing at the Community College and Other Student-Centered Writing Programs.
In addition to our daytime conference presentations, we will be hosting a screening of the new documentary CLOSURE by director Ken Brosky, an investigation into the massive budget cuts, mergers, political attacks, and declining enrollments that have devastated Wisconsin’s University System. At the center of the crisis are the two-year community colleges that serve the Wisconsin Idea by providing higher education access everywhere in the state.
Furthermore, while the conference will wrap up the morning of the 26th, all TCWCC attendees will receive complimentary tickets to our 7th annual Creative Writing Forum, which opens at noon on the 26th. Our Keynote presenter to the Forum is poet Nathan McClain.
