Apply: TYCA Seminar on Two-Year College Teaching

Dear colleagues,
We are thrilled to announce the TYCA Seminar on Teaching in Two-Year Colleges for 2024–2025.

The purpose of the seminar is to help a cohort of current and aspiring two-year college faculty to explore strategies for teaching in open-access contexts. Jessica Nastal, Erin Lehman, and other guest lecturers will facilitate this teaching-focused seminar over several virtual sessions (October to May). Topics will include equitable feedback practices, online teaching, and applying professional development to your career.

The seminar is free for participants during the 2024 to 2025 academic year. In future years, there will likely be a fee to participate.

This could be a great fit for someone who is newer in their career at two-year colleges, considering moving from a university or high school setting into two-year colleges, or in graduate school (perhaps in a program that does not focus on teaching in access-oriented settings), as well as for someone who is established in their literacy career and looking to expand on their practices.

To apply for the seminar, please complete this brief online application form: https://link.ivytech.edu/TYCASeminarApp2024. Applications are due by September 20, 2024. Please let us know if you have questions, and please share this widely!

Sincerely,

Jessica and Erin
