Dear colleagues,
The CFP for the 7th annual Writing Innovation Symposium is here, so get ready and get set! WIS ’25 will convene in Milwaukee, WI, January 30-31, 2025. This year’s theme is mise en place, and participants as well as WIS alums will have a chance to contribute to the inaugural WIS Community Cookbook.
Proposals for 5-minute flashtalks, 75-minute workshops, posters, artifacts, displays, and installations are due 10/25. Early career colleagues are invited to apply for 2025 Bedford/St. Martin’s WIS Fellowships at the same time (10/25). Each year, fellows receive mentorship and an opportunity to blog for Bedford Bitsas well as up to $500 for expenses related to onsite WIS attendance.
Also, if you teach, mentor, and advise undergraduate writers, take note: We invite undergrads to share pre-recorded 30-second sparks and 3-minute flares. Full submission details are online in our proposal guide. Complete submissions of these genres are due 12/13.
Program notifications will begin in early November, and event registration will open soon after that. Read the full CFP here <https://bit.ly/WIS2025CFP>, apply here: <https://bit.ly/WIS25Prop>, and be in touch with questions—
