Hi everyone,
I write to ask that you share this invitation with prospective graduate students to an online Open House for our newly relaunched PhD program on October 29 from 6:00-7:00pm eastern or on October 30 from 9:00-10:00am eastern. Come chat with our director, faculty, and graduate students about our reimagined program, part of a department and college that values what humanistic thinking, working, and action can do in and for the world. Our program has been thoroughly redesigned to reflect the evolving needs of the field and to prepare students for diverse and impactful careers in academia, community organizations, corporate settings, government, and nonprofit sectors. In our graduate programs, students engage with advanced research, innovative pedagogy, and professional practice by weaving together these key areas of writing studies: cultures, identities, and communities; leadership and administration; technical and professional communication; and writing pedagogy and learning.
Our fantastic group of graduate students work closely with our nationally recognized graduate faculty to engage in scholarly inquiry, contribute to research teams, produce multimodal content for various organizations, and apply their skills in people-focused environments. Students accepted with funding are employed in a variety of graduate assistantships, giving them the opportunity to explore a multitude of career pathways across multiple award-winning programs and research centers.
