The English Department of Lafayette College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in writing and rhetoric studies or related field. Desirable areas of specialization include rhetoric of science, technology, or medicine/health; technical communication; computational approaches to writing and rhetoric; visual rhetoric; multimodal composition; or digital literacies. Special consideration will be given to candidates with secondary interests in (or experience working with) rhetoric of data and/or inclusive STEM education.
The successful candidate will be able to teach introductory, intermediate, and advanced writing and rhetoric courses within the major and in the Common Course of Study. The teaching load is 2/2 in the first year, 3/2 thereafter. The position will also eventually include an administrative role in the College Writing Program. The appointment will begin July 1, 2025. Ph.D. by August 2025 and teaching experience are required.
