Job: Tenure-Track Assistant Professor, University of Florida

The English Department at the University of Florida is hiring a tenure-track assistant professor in Latinx literary and cultural studies, to start Fall 2025. I’m chairing the search committee. You can find the ad, on UF’s jobs website, here.

Despite the job ad’s title, we want rhetoric scholars to apply. Think of a Venn diagram of culture, rhetoric, and literature, where each term is defined very broadly.

Please review the ad carefully, and please note that the November 1 date is not a deadline as such. Rather, it’s when the search committee will start reviewing applications. Please note, too, that the initial application requires only three items: letter, c.v., and teaching statement. We’ll ask for more materials as the need arises.

Anyone interested can write to me with questions about the job. They can also write to me, Sid Dobrin (sdobrin), Laura Gonzales (gonzalesl) , and Victor del Hierro (vdelhierro) with questions about working and living in Florida.

Thanks!

Raúl
