Call for Editor for Marketing:
WAC Clearinghouse International Exchanges on the Study of Writing Series
The WAC Clearinghouse International Exchanges (IE) on the Study of Writing series is seeking an Editor for Marketing to lead the marketing efforts of the series. This series publishes books that address worldwide perspectives on writing, writers, teaching with writing, and scholarly writing practices, specifically those that draw on scholarship across linguistic, national, and disciplinary borders. It further currently has a Latin American section dedicated to highlighting writing scholarship in the region.

Roles and Responsibilities
The Editor for Marketing will assume a lead role in all marketing and outreach efforts for the series. This will include building on and developing outreach efforts for audiences both within and beyond North American borders that publicize and support publications in the series. The Editor is expected to take creative lead in expanding these efforts, with general duties that include managing interns, planning webinars, writing a newsletter, maintaining IE social media accounts, posting to Listervs, and updating the website. The Marketing Editor may have the possibility of participating in other editorial opportunities.
The Editor ideally will possess expertise in transnational issues related to writing studies with the ability to work across linguistic, geographic, and disciplinary borders. In addition to a basic understanding of how to develop effective communication and marketing strategies, the selected applicant occupying this position should be well versed in transnational writing studies scholarship with the ability to interact with a range of scholarly audiences intersecting with these issues.
Time Commitment
There will be an hour-and-a-half editorial meeting every 4-6 weeks in addition to other duties articulated above. On average, the person in this position may typically spend up to six hours a month over the course of a year. The position is ad honorem and expected to contribute to a scholar’s national service profile.

Timeline
The deadline for applications is December 1, 2024, with a Zoom interview to follow after January 15, 2025, and a final announcement in March, 2025.
