Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the upcoming Southeastern Writing Center Association (SWCA) conference to be held February 20-22, 2025, hosted by the University of North Alabama and Athens State University. This year’s conference will be in Florence, Alabama on the beautiful UNA campus.
This year’s theme is “Leading from the Center,” and we want to know:
- What unique skills do writing center practitioners acquire that equip them as leaders?
- How different is leadership when you’re “leading” from your Center?
- How does your location influence your impact on the university?
- How can writing centers be more influential within their university ecosystem?
We’re exploring these questions and many more! Click here for the full CFP.
We have extended the submission deadline to November 8th, 2024.
Additionally, we look forward to welcoming Dr. William “Bill” J. Macauley, Jr who will give our keynote address. Macauley is co-editor of Building Writing Center Assessments That Matter, Before and After the Tutorial: Writing Centers and Institutional Relationships, and Marginal Words, Marginal Work? Tutoring the Academy in the Work of Writing Centers.

If you have any questions about the conference or conference site, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you.
