Job: TT Assistant Professor of Professional Writing at Longwood University

The Department of English and Modern Languages at Longwood University is hiring a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor of Professional Writing.

Longwood University is located in south central Virginia, about an hour’s drive from Richmond and Charlottesville, with ample coffee shops, restaurants, shopping, and abundant recreational opportunities. At Longwood, we have the highest proportion of small classes taught by full-time professors of any Virginia public university. We take great pride in our faculty-student connections and democracy-focused Civitae Core Curriculum.

The successful candidate will engage their teaching and scholarship on topics such as writing and emerging technologies, digital media, critical AI studies, user-experience design, generative AI management, or other areas that reflect the candidate’s strengths. Additional areas of interest could include digital humanities, medical humanities, gaming/media studies, and science writing.
