CFP: Extension: 2025 Digital Humanities Institute

We hope you’ve had a lovely holiday season! We’re writing to remind everyone to submit to the 2025 Digital Humanities Institute.

The submission deadline is EXTENDED TO January 25, 2025.

We are excited about the submissions we’ve received so far, and we’re looking forward to a great institute! If you haven’t submitted yet, here are the details:

The Digital Humanities Collaborative of North Carolina (DHC-NC) invites you to submit proposals for the 2025 Digital Humanities Institute, to be held virtually on April 4-5, 2025. The theme is Digital Humanities as a Tool for Resiliency: Analyzing and Addressing Crises through Innovative Digital Practices. The full Call for Papers can be found attached to this email for your review. In summary, we welcome submissions that explore how digital humanities can contribute to crisis and disaster response, including topics such as:

  • Public Health, Pandemics, and Data Ethics
  • Storytelling, Digital Archives, and Social Justice
  • Crisis Communication and Education

We also invite special focus submissions on disaster preparedness, in light of Hurricane Helene’s impact in Western North Carolina.

Submission Details:

  • Submit abstracts (250 words max) via Google Form
  • Submission deadline: January 17, 2025
  • Format options: Presentations (15-min), Lightning Talks (5-min), Workshops, and Creative Demos

Key Dates:

  • Notification of Acceptance: By February 28, 2025
  • Registration opens: March 1, 2025
  • Conference Dates: April 4-5, 2025
