Event: ECWCA Presents: A Talk with Kelin Hull and Marilee Brooks-Gillies about Emotion and Identity in Writing Center Work

A reminder that ECWCA’s next installment of our ECWCA Presents speaker series is next week: A Talk with Kelin Hull and Marilee Brooks-Gillies.

Authors of the chapter "Emotional and Embodied Relationality in Writing Center Administration: Attending to Institutional Status, In-Betweenness, and the (Re)Making of Community" in Emotions and Affect in Writing Centers, Kelin and Marilee will build on their experiences navigating complex intersections of identity and community in writing center work. They will unpack some of the institutional, relational, and emotional challenges of their writing center work and explore how other writing center folks facing similar challenges might approach these situations. A Q&A will follow the talk.

This talk will be held on Tuesday, February 4, from 12-1:30pm ET (11am-12:30pm CT, 10-11:30am MT, 9-10:30am PT), on Zoom.

You do not have to have read the book or chapter, or be an ECWCA member, to attend—all writing center administrators, staff, and consultants are welcome!
