The Association for Writing Across the Curriculum (AWAC) Mentoring Committee is delighted to host LaKeisha McClary and Heather Falconer for a virtual workshop: "Navigating Inclusive STEM Education in a Time of Crisis"
Join LaKeisha McClary and Heather Falconer (editors of Inclusive STEM: Transforming Disciplinary Writing Instruction for a Socially Just Future) to discuss the challenges and opportunities of being STEM writing and writing educators in a time when diversity, equity, inclusion, access, and justice (DEIAJ) are being challenged on multiple fronts. The editors will discuss the reason for the collection, what DEIAJ really means in educational settings, and why such practices benefit every student. Open discussion and strategizing for various educational contexts will be a significant part of this session.
All AWAC members are invited to join us for this workshop on Thursday, February 20th, from 4:00-5:30pm Eastern/3:00-4:30pm Central/2:00-3:30pm Mountain/1:00-2:30pm Pacific. (Not yet an AWAC member? Click here to learn more!)
