Job: Reminder Hiring for 1 Open Rank (Assis/Assoc) Position at Central Michigan University

Hi all,

Just a reminder that we are still hiring for this business communication position at Central Michigan University, and the deadline is February 13, so it is not too late!

One good thing to note is that CMU is a union-school, meaning that you are supported by a union (important in these chaotic times) at all times. Clearly spelled out bylaw criteria for promotion make tenure and promotion processes transparent and clear, and positions in business schools typically pay well.

Next to regular salary adjustments, there are also opportunities to apply for salary adjustments after you gain full professor rank every few years or so. We want you to be happy and successful, in other words.

If you are in composition or business/technical communication or rhetoric, please consider applying.

Original message below:

My department (Business Information Systems) is hiring for an open-rank position (TT -Assistant or Associate level) professor of Business Communication at Central Michigan University. We are in the great lakes area with lots of Michigan lakes surrounding us.

Our department has specializations in business communication, information systems, data analytics and cybersecurity, and we very much welcome interdisciplinary work (with several of my colleagues and I publishing in technical or business communication journals).

We are looking for candidates with an active interest in the connections between communication, rhetoric, and technology. We are looking for people who can teach courses in one or more areas such as visual communication, intercultural communication, social media or digital media. If you have industry experience and research in emerging areas that is desirable.
