Dear colleagues
Hello! I am seeking participants three graduate student participants for an interview-based study about meaningful academic reading. I am interested in how academics in rhetoric and composition perceive meaningful scholarly reading at differing points in their career. To qualify for the study as a graduate student, you should be finished with coursework and either preparing for your comprehensive exams or working on your dissertation.
Participation in this study would take approximately 5 hours of your time during the spring of 2025. If you agree to participate, you will complete three interviews with me via zoom (in March, April, and May), and once the study is completed, you’ll receive a $100 gift card to Downbound Bookstore in Cincinnati as a gesture of appreciation for your time (they can ship books to any location in the US). Your identity will be kept confidential, and I will ask you to select a pseudonym for the purposes of future research publications.
If you are interested in being a part of this study, please email me at keblewet by February 17, 2025. I will send more information via email and answer any questions you may have. I am hoping to finalize all participants by February 19, 2025.
Thank you for your consideration,
Kelly
