Dear colleagues,
I’m sending a friendly and encouraging reminder that the deadline to submit proposals for the 2025 Conference on Community Writing is this Monday, February 17, 11:59 p.m., EST.
The 3-day international Conference on Community Writing brings together about 400 scholars, teachers, students, community activists and organizers, writers, and artists who believe in the transformative power of writing for social action.
The Coalition for Community Writing, Wayne State University, and Michigan State University will co-host the biennial conference on October 23-25, 2025 in Detroit, on the Wayne State campus. The conference theme is “Designing Justice Across Space, Place, and Time,” and we’d love to showcase your incredible community-engaged work.
There’s still plenty of time to collaborate with community partners, colleagues, and students to craft a proposal for a session sharing the exciting and important work you are doing.
The call for proposals is available on the conference website, along with keynote speaker information and a link to the proposal portal: https://communitywriting.org/conference-on-community-writing/
Please share the conference CFP with your faculty, students, and community partners. We’re accepting proposals through February 17, 2025, and we’d appreciate your help in spreading the word!
We look forward to seeing you in Detroit in October!
Sincerely,
Adrienne Jankens
