CFP: Extended deadline: 2025 Conference on Community Writing, including undergraduate poster session

Hi all,

We’re excited about the many thoughtful proposals that have come in so far for the 2025 Conference on Community Writing. Having heard from many of you, and with everything going on in the world, we are happy to extend the deadline for proposal submissions to February 26, 2024,11:59 p.m. Pacific time. We will begin reviewing proposals to organize the program shortly after the 26th.

The conference—October 22-25, 2025, at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI—focuses on the theme "Designing Justice Across Space, Place, and Time," and we hope that you will invite your community partners, colleagues (across disciplines), undergraduate and graduate students, and neighbors to submit proposals to share their work in community writing. The call for proposals and the submission link can be found here: https://communitywriting.org/conference-on-community-writing/

We want to especially highlight that this year, we are seeking submissions for CCW’s first undergraduate poster session to be held on Saturday 10/25. We want to showcase a broad range of students’ writing, research, and community-engaged work. Students may submit individual or group proposals on their own, but we also welcome collaborations with faculty.

In particular, we encourage faculty to submit separate proposals for planned undergraduate posters developed from courses running now through Fall 2025. In the submission details, make sure to select "Undergraduate Poster Presentation" as the track.

I am happy to answer any questions! I look forward to meeting you in Detroit in October.

Sincerely,

Adrienne Jankens
