Survey: Postsecondary Writing Instructor’s Experiences of State-Level Educational Reforms

Dear writing instructor colleagues,

My name is Jennifer Killam, and I am a doctoral candidate in Composition and Applied Linguistics at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I am conducting a study on postsecondary writing instructors’ experiences of state-level educational reforms at publicly-funded institutions in the U.S. Instructors of first-year composition, multilingual writing, Second Language Writing (SLW), and/or English for Academic Purposes (EAP) composition courses are invited to participate.

The purpose of this survey study is to explore postsecondary writing instructors’ experiences with and perceptions of state-level educational reforms. Specifically, this study examines teaching practices, teacher identity, and orientations towards reforms. There are no personal benefits to individuals as a result of participation but your participation will contribute to current disciplinary understandings of the impacts of policy reforms, which should be of benefit not only to the writing disciplines but also to policy makers, educational advocates, and materials developers, among others.

Participation in this study consists of completing a survey, which is estimated to take no longer than 15-20 minutes. Your participation is voluntary and anonymous. No personally identifying information of any kind will be collected. You are free to end your participation in this study at any time by simply closing your browser window.
