CFP: “Workplace and Beyond” Panel at RMMLA 2025

Rocky Mountain MLA 2025—"Workplace and Beyond” panel
Review of proposals begin April 1.
Conference is October 16-18, 2025 in Spokane, Washington.

What does it mean to think about “the workplace and beyond” at a time when all places are increasingly being transformed into workplaces, when every hobby is potentially monetized into the latest “side gig”? At a time when educational institutions and national funding agencies are actively engaging in what the AAUP calls “anticipatory obedience” in acts targeting underrepresented people, what is the role of teachers and scholars of technical and professional communication?

We welcome submissions that engage some form of these questions, whether in terms of scholarly or pedagogical practices, theoretical or rhetorical explorations, course or assignment design, or any other related facet of this pressing problem.

To join our conversation, please submit a 200-250 word abstract with a brief bio to Brian Henderson (Southern Illinois University Edwardsville) at brhende.
