The IATE conference planning team is busily preparing for the October 24-25, 2025, conference of the IL Association of Teachers of English, an NCTE affiliate organization with 100+ years of history.
Visit our Facebook page or scroll our IG for pictures from last October’s conference at Millikin University. The 2025 conference is being held at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills.
We’re excited to announce that Penny Kittle, educator, author, and activist, is a confirmed keynote speaker, along with author and editor, Kelly Jensen and well-known Chicago musician and writer, Dag Juhlin. The fall conference brings together a VIBRANT, FRIENDLY group of educators from all levels, elementary through college, throughout the state of Illinois. IATE is especially committed to mentoring pre-service teachers and minority educators (more information about the annual IATE minority scholarship on the organization’s website).
