Event: April 1: AWAC virtual workshop “Fostering Critical AI Literacy for Multilingual Students”

Hello, all!

The Association for Writing Across the Curriculum (AWAC) Mentoring Committee is delighted to host Chaoran Wang and Zhaozhe Wang for a virtual workshop: "Fostering Critical AI Literacy for Multilingual Students"

Drawing from recent empirical research on multilingual students’ AI-assisted writing practices, Chaoran Wang and Zhaozhe Wang will discuss the complexities, controversies, and myths surrounding students’ engagement with generative AI technologies. Our speakers will explore pedagogical approaches that integrate critical AI literacy into writing instruction. Specifically, they will introduce ways to foster multilingual students’ critical awareness, positionality, strategies, and evaluation of AI while amplifying their multilingual voice and resisting AI-driven linguicism.

All AWAC members are invited to join us for this workshop on Tuesday, April 1st, from 4:00-5:00pm Eastern/3:00-4:00pm Central/2:00-3:00pm Mountain/1:00-2:00pm Pacific. (Not yet an AWAC member? Click here to learn more!)
