Hello,
As research and work in Online Writing Instruction (OWI) continues to grow, we believe an open and free space is essential for the field – one that is informed by scholars and practitioners. Currently, there are several excellent searchable databases in writing studies, and historically there have been some earlier versions of OWI specific bibliographic collections but we feel in this post COVID-19 world, a resource specifically focused on the scholarship in distance education and OWI is critically needed.
As a result, we have created the Scholarly Hub for Innovative Networked Education (SHINE), in an effort to collect, store, and share OWI/distance education research. The SHINE resource will be available free on the The OWI Community website (www.owicommunity.org).
In an effort to replace earlier OWI bibliography versions, the SHINE resource will list citations and summaries of all texts related to online writing instruction, teaching, online administration, learning in online spaces, teaching writing, literacy, and designing in digital spaces.
Anyone who submits a source can choose to be listed as a contributor on the site because we feel you deserve to be noted for your work and effort in helping us create this valuable resource for all who teach in digitally mediated environments.
Thus, we invite submissions to this online resource via this survey: https://forms.gle/nSumrQgKMTxhHH4t9
You can read more about the project here: https://www.owicommunity.org/shine.html
We know this has been a difficult year on many levels with our work and our lives, so we appreciate any time you have to contribute to this new space where everyone can collaborate, feel welcome, and support scholarship that advances the field. Please submit as many sources as you can to help us build this resource!
Thank you!
