Survey: First-Year Writing Curricula

Dear Colleagues:

We invite first-year writing instructors and administrators to participate in our quick, 10-minute survey on National Trends in First-Year Writing Curricula. Building on the wealth of scholarship on first-year writing, this research aims to capture how these theories and frameworks are actually implemented in classrooms nationwide. Your participation will help build a clearer picture of contemporary FYW curricula to inform instructors and administrators as they design courses and build programs.

The survey will ask you to share your FYW course syllabi and provide some details about your course, as well as briefly describe your program and institution. You may also choose to answer questions describing your course without uploading a syllabus.

For Instructors: Please click here to take the survey (or visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NX7ZD55)

For Administrators: Please click here to take the survey (or visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KVK5SX6)

If you are an administrator of a FYW program, please consider taking the survey and sharing this email with instructors in your program.

We recognize that sharing course materials is fraught in the current political climate. We commit to protecting all participants’ information and will not publicize names, materials, or identifying information in any way. The survey is anonymous, and you can withdraw at any time. There is, however, an option to share your materials with appropriate attributions with a public archive, but it is entirely optional.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Enrique Paz, enrique.paz, and Cynthia Johnson, cynthiajohnson. We will also be at TYCA and CCCC in Baltimore if anyone would like to discuss this project in person.

We appreciate your time and participation!
