Hello Friends, Colleagues, and Fellow Designers–
If you’re attending CCCC in Baltimore next month, the authors of ACCESS: Accessible Course Construction for Every Student’s Success would love to invite you to a Wednesday morning journey of course design beyond ADA compliance. In today’s rapidly shifting political climate, our attention to issues of access and diversity is ever-present; let us remind students–and ourselves–we are here for them no matter their race, class, gender, or disability.
A companion workshop to the recently published book via Routledge, Access N Action: Accessible and Inclusive Course Design Strategies, will guide attendees toward developing/revising course materials for greater accessibility and inclusivity across three topics:
-
Creating Assignments and/or Sequences
-
Adding/Evaluation Course Technologies
-
Increasing Student Engagement
Participants will leave this workshop with a Google folder of models, heuristics, and selected readings that they can employ for iterative, accessible course design.
