Hello colleagues,
I’m pleased to announce that the application deadline has been extended for the 2025 MLA Institutes on Reading and Writing Pedagogy at Access-Oriented Institutions. Graduate students in English and related fields and full-time or part-time faculty members at access-oriented institutions like community colleges are invited to apply for this grant-funded professional development opportunity. This summer the institutes will be held in June in Milwaukee, Atlanta, and Salt Lake City. For details on dates, locations, and eligibility, check out flyers below:
Utah Institute Flyer
These institutes, funded by the Mellon Foundation, provide new and future faculty members with intensive training in pedagogical theory and practices for the teaching of writing and reading together to improve instruction at access-oriented institutions and to nurture the study of the humanities in diverse educational settings. Upon completion of the institute, participants will be eligible to receive the MLA Certificate in Reading-Writing Pedagogy at Access-Oriented Institutions.
The deadline for applications is April 18, 2025.
