If you are interested in any of the wide ranging connections between high school and college writing, please join our meeting at CCCC this year:

This is the former English Education/Composition Studies Connections SIG; we have a new name and a new broader focus this year!
Our aim is to create and foster connections between writing instructors from different levels to bridge gaps between secondary and higher education. We’re open to all interested participants, and we are particularly seeking folks who are willing to bring their ideas and enthusiasm to new initiatives: opportunities to create a “home” within NCTE and CCCC for those interested in cross-level connections, ideas for research collaborations, sharing texts and resources, and dialogue about new directions.

PS: if you are interested in this group, you might find the session Reclaiming Side B: Creating Remixes and Collaborative Connections between High School and College Writing Teachers interesting. This is a panel facilitated by myself and my colleagues Nicole Green and Michal Reznizki. We will explore the history of institutional divides and discuss two practical examples of how connections can be made in different contexts.
