I wanted to let you know that we’ll be launching the TYCA Reading Network at TYCA, and I’d like to invite you to the Reading Network sessions;
- Wednesday, 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. – TYCA Roundtables/TYCA Network Meetings
- In this session, we’ll discuss what we want our network to be and do
- Wednesday, 4:10 to 5:00 p.m. – Teaching Reading in Open-Access Contexts: A Community Conversation
- In this session, we’ll discuss issues surrounding the teaching of college reading, including what resources the field needs
- Friday: 9:30 a.m.–10:45 a.m., G Session – Emily Suh, Annotation: A Student-Centered Approach to Deepening and Documenting Reading Strategies and Goal Setting
- In this interactive session, participants will explore practical approaches to annotation as a means of metacognitively documenting their reading strategy application and goal setting. The session seeks to affirm practitioners’ use of a tried and true reading strategy for theoretically driven and research-informed literacy development.
