Job: VAP in academic writing at UTampa

I am pleased to announce The Department of English and Writing at the University of Tampa invites applications for a one-year, full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position to teach courses in Academic Writing to begin Fall 2025.

We seek applicants who are capable of teaching AWR 101: Writing and Inquiry and AWR 201: Writing and Research, our first- and second-year courses that teach critical reading, writing, and research skills.
Our vibrant and growing Academic Writing (AWR) program welcomes applicants with experience and enthusiasm for teaching students with diverse backgrounds. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated teacher with a demonstrable commitment to academic writing and writing pedagogy. The on-campus, in-person teaching load will be 24 credit hours per year in academic writing, typically consisting of seven four-hour courses. In addition to teaching duties, successful candidates will contribute to the Academic Writing Program by participating in curricular initiatives, taking part in committee work, and developing collegial exchanges with peers.
Successful candidates will have at least an MA degree and college- or university-level experience teaching academic writing and demonstrated scholarly/professional activity. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
