New: SDC 27.1 is live

Dear colleagues,

We’re excited to share that issue 27.1 of SDC: A Journal of Writing Center Studies is now live and available to read online!

This issue features exciting articles by Bonnie Devet and James Hamby, as well as a new Back to the Center piece by Erin Jensen, Peyton Anderson, and Taylor Rosenberger of the writing center at Belmont Abbey College in Charlotte, North Carolina. Finally, Michelle Cohen reviews Megan Swihart Jewell and Joseph Cheatle’s edited collection Redefining Roles: The Professional, Faculty, and Graduate Consultant’s Guide to Writing Centers.

To submit your work to SDC, please email your piece to SDC.journal.editors. We ask that all submissions be documented in accordance with the MLA Style Manual, 9th Edition. Consistent with traditional writing center practice, SDC promotes a feedback model. Articles will be sent out to readers for blind review and reviewed by our editorial team.

SDC publishes the following types of articles:

  • Peer-reviewed research articles (3,000-5,000 words)
  • Back to the Center (focused on a particular writing, digital, or multiliteracy center; ~1,500 words)
  • Consultant Insight (articles by writing consultants of every level and experience; ~2,000 words)
  • Book Reviews (800-1,200 words)
