Hi all,
I’m excited to announce the publication of Volume 13, Issue 2 of Communication Design Quarterly (CDQ). The issue features a range of articles and book reviews that I hope showcase the depth and breadth of our field. I want to thank all the authors who contributed their excellent work to this issue and all the reviewers whose volunteer labor is so essential to the publishing process. I hope you enjoy the new issue and consider contributing your work to CDQ in the future. If you just want to read the abstracts rather than the PDF of the entire issue, you can find the abstracts on this page. Please let me know if you have any questions.
I’m also happy to announce that Dr. Timothy Amidon will be taking over as the new Editor-in-Chief of CDQ. Back in June of 2022, I took over as Editor-in-Chief of CDQ, and Dr. Amber Lancaster stepped in as the Associate Editor. The publication of this new issue marks the end of our three-year term, and it’s been such a pleasure to watch the journal thrive over the past three years and build upon the amazing work Dr. Derek Ross had done as the previous Editor to put us in a position to succeed. I especially want to thank Amber for the amazing job she’s done over the past three years as Associate Editor. So much of the work she has devoted to CDQ happens behind the scenes, but I’m not exaggerating when I say that I could not have done this job without her. She is the best editor I have ever met, and I’ve learned so much from working with her during our three-year term. Additionally, I want to thank Dr. Derek Sparby and Dr. Kristin Bennett. Derek was CDQ’s book review editor for the first part of our term, and Kristin took over as book review editor in 2024 and will continue as the book review editor. They both did amazing work that has helped make CDQ what it is today. I’m the one who sends the emails announcing new issues, but those issues wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for CDQ‘s editorial team.
After three years as CDQ’s editor, I’m grateful that Tim will be taking over as the new editor. He’s an amazing scholar and an even better person, and I have no doubt that CDQ will continue to grow under his leadership. You can email him at timothy_amidon to submit your work to CDQ or ask any questions about the process. I’m excited to see CDQ continue to evolve under his highly capable leadership.
Thank you all for reading,
(Apologies for any typos. I’m using voice-to-text to deal with carpal tunnel.)
