New: Summer 2025 Issue of WLN: A Journal of Writing Center Scholarship NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE!

Happy summer, writing center colleagues!

You’re invited to read the open-access Summer 2025 (v49.n4) issue of WLN at https://wac.colostate.edu/wln/.

The entire issue is available here: https://wac.colostate.edu/docs/wln/v49n4/v49n4.pdf

Our latest issue starts with Candis Bond’s editor’s note. Following Candis’ editor’s note, we have four articles, including a tutor column:

Lin Li’s "Invitational Rhetoric as a Method for Supporting Multilingual Writers in the Writing Center" examines how invitational rhetoric can help multilingual writing tutors navigate various linguistic and cultural dynamics in their centers.

Alana Kuhlman and Amy Rushall, in "A Glimpse into the Possibilities of Credit-Bearing Writing Support Courses: Students’ Perspectives," explore how credit-bearing writing courses may build on writing center support by providing ongoing, structured interactions between students and tutors.

Based on their study of how genre is understood by students and instructors at their institution, Margaret Ervin, Gabrielle Stanley, and Olivia Mathers, in "Writing Center as Genre Microcosm," make the case for re-examining traditional notions of genre to empower writing centers to provide targeted support for students.

Finally, in their tutor column, "Harnessing the Power of GenAI," Timoteo Pereira Neves makes the case that human connection and the use of technological tools can go hand in hand in the writing center.

We hope you enjoy reading our last issue of the 2024-2025 academic year as much as we enjoyed bringing it together for you.

Finally, please read about our submission guidelines and don’t hesitate to reach out with questions or ideas for possible article submissions.

Have a wonderful summer!
