Position Announcement
Utah Valley University’s Department of English & Literature is seeking a dynamic and dedicated one-year, non-tenure-track faculty member to join its team. This role offers the opportunity to teach four composition courses per semester, using engaging and student-centered methods such as lectures, discussions, and individual conferences. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering critical thinking and strong writing skills while creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
In addition to teaching, this position involves preparing course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and grading rubrics, and upholding professional and academic standards. Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
· An earned master’s degree in English or a closely related field, from an accredited college or university.
· A minimum of three years of successful teaching of English at the college/university level.
· Online teaching experience and willingness to obtain online certification through UVU Office of Teaching and Learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Evidence of successful teaching of first-year composition

· Knowledge of subject matter and course content of composition courses.

· Ability to manage, motivate, and evaluate students.
· Ability to teach both face-to-face and online classes effectively.
