CFP: College English Call for Book Reviewers

Call for Book Reviewers: College English
Special Focus: Queer, disabled, and critical pedagogies

College English invites proposals from scholars in queer studies, disability studies, rhetoric, and critical pedagogy to serve as reviewers for an upcoming cluster of book reviews scheduled for the March 2026 issue. We are seeking thoughtful and engaged reviews of the following recently published works:

  • Failing Sideways: Queer Possibilities for Writing Assessment by Puckett et al.

  • Queer Silence: On Disability and Rhetorical Absence by Tanya Titchkosky

  • Teaching the Inevitable: Embracing a Pedagogy of Failure by Eckstein et al.

We welcome scholars whose work directly engages with queer rhetorics, disability studies, critical pedagogies, or related areas within rhetorical, cultural, or educational studies.

Please send the following materials by October 1, 2025:

  • A brief cover letter expressing your interest and explaining how your scholarly work aligns with the mission and readership of College English

  • A current CV highlighting your specialization in Indigenous studies or related areas

Selected reviewers will be asked to submit their completed book reviews by January 2026 to be included in the March 2026 issue.
