CFP: Extended Georgia International Conference on Information Literacy

Dear Colleagues,

The deadline for proposals for the Georgia International Conference on Information Literacy (GICOIL) has been extended to September 28, 2025. Please consider joining us in Savannah, Georgia on February 6-7, 2026 for GICOIL. The conference will be held on the Armstrong campus of Georgia Southern University and brings together librarians and writing studies scholars around our shared interests in information literacy. This year the theme is Information Literacy in a Changing Educational Landscape, and you may read more about the theme and submit your proposal in our call for proposals.

I’m also excited to announce that Dr. Matthew Boedy will present the conference keynote on our shared concerns about academic freedom as faculty and librarians. Dr. Boedy is professor of rhetoric and composition at the University of North Georgia and president of the Georgia conference of the AAUP.

Early bird registration is open now, and we offer reduced registration rates for students. Please reach out to me directly with any questions!

Please note that we are in the middle of a university wide website-refresh. Use the links in this email to access the proposal and registration platforms.

Thank you!
Annie
