Good morning, all!
I am thrilled to announce the publication of Open Technical Communication, 2e.
Almost 10 years ago, a team of faculty, staff, and students at Kennesaw State University began development on the first edition of Open TC with funding support from an Affordable Learning Georgia Textbook Transformation Grant. Since then, the first edition has been through rounds (and more rounds) of continuous improvement, earning an OE Global Award in 2022 for those efforts.
Now, after many years of planning, we have finally completed a beta second edition. Open TC, 2e is a collaborative work heavily revised and reorganized with faculty and students at Kennesaw State University, Louisiana Tech University, and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. This revision work was supported with a Summer Dissemination Acceleration Program Grant from KSU’s Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Why is it a beta version? Well, because we have big plans! The two primary authors of Open TC, 2e are working diligently to secure additional grant funding to support the development of eight brand new chapters that are much needed in technical communication textbooks. In addition, we are also in the process of revising and developing ancillary materials to support this new edition.
In the meantime, if you are currently using Open TC, 1e and/or are looking for a new textbook for technical communication courses, take a peek at Open TC, 2e. We are always, always accepting feedback and continuously improving based on that feedback. If you have any questions about Open TC, 1e or Open TC, 2e, please do not hesitate to email Tiffani Tijerina (me) at ttijerina1 or tiffani.tijerina. I look forward to hearing from you!
