Dear Colleagues,
I’m excited to share that I’ll be co-facilitating, alongside Beth Lehman and Carla Hanson, a new series of Amherst Writers & Artists (AWA) workshops designed specifically for educators: Teachers Flourishing Through Writing.
These workshops create a supportive, generative space for teachers at all levels to write, reflect, and connect. Using the AWA method, which emphasizes new writing and strengths-based feedback, we’ll support our teaching through our own creative writing. No prior experience with AWA is necessary—just a willingness to write and engage in community. AWA provides guidelines for what one can expect from their writing workshops.
You can find more details, including registration information and session dates, here: https://amherstwriters.org/2025/02/08/teachers-talking-through-writing/
Current sessions are scheduled on the following dates and times:
Monday, October 6th from 4:00- 5:30 p.m. EDT
Monday, November 3rd from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. EDT
Monday, December 1st from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. EDT
AWA members may attend up to eight workshops as part of their membership. Membership is not required; individual sessions are $20.00 each for nonmembers or for members who have used their free-write credits.
We would be happy to provide your first session free: please email me directly at caroline.maun, letting me know which session, and I’ll be sure you receive a link. Please forward this offer to other teachers who might be interested.
Please let me know if you have any questions; it would be lovely to see you in a workshop.
All the best,
Caroline
