Hello, all! Last winter, I hosted a series of virtual brown bag lunch sessions for late career and retired writing center directors and professionals. There was no agenda. We chatted about whatever people felt was of interest. Topics included emotional/mental preparation for retirement, existential crises surrounding work identity, the importance (or not) of leaving a legacy, life on the other side of academia, and opportunities for retired writing center professionals.
Some of the folks who participated are interested in picking up our discussions again this winter, and we would love to have you join us. The discussion is open to everyone—whether you are close to retired or not.
We will meet on Friday, December 12, 12 Noon – 1 p.m. EST and Friday, January 16, 12 Noon – 1 p.m. EST in my WebEx personal room: https://lccedu.webex.com/meet/penninj. Just follow the link. You don’t need to download the WebEx app or enter a passcode.
Depending on attendance and interest, we might continue meeting about once/month for the remainder of spring semester.
Thanks for considering it!
