Job: Director of General Education at Boise State University

Hi, all.

I wanted to pass along this opening for a Director of General Education at Boise State University (applications close November 21).

While it’s not a writing-specific position, I imagine someone with WAC/WID experience would thrive in this role. The position oversees a large interdisciplinary program, and the work aligns closely with the kind of integrative thinking about disciplinary values, threshold concepts, and student enculturation that many of us do in writing. Boise State’s university learning outcomes (including one on Written Communication) also provide a strong foundation for this kind of work.

If anyone has questions about the campus context or wants to chat about what it’s like to be a “writing person” in a broader teaching-and-learning role here, feel free to reach out.
