Dear Colleagues,
Auburn University in Auburn, AL, is hiring multiple lecturers to start on January 1, 2026.
We anticipate needing new lecturers to teach online sections of FYW for the most part right now, meaning that new hires may not need to move to the area right away. Lecturers may also be available to teach technical writing, business writing, and other writing courses. If you have colleagues with literature PhDs or MFAs, they’re welcome to apply as well and may be able to teach in their area of study at some point, as , though, again, our main need is for FYW coverage.
Lecturers teach a 4/4 load and compensation is $40,000. Summer teaching may be available as well, depending on enrollments. Lecturers are full members of the department with voting rights and are eligible for promotion to Senior Lecturer after five years.
Auburn’s undergraduate enrollment has grown every year I’ve been on the faculty, and we have an innovative FYW curriculum. I hope you’ll consider applying or pass this information along to others!
Although the job ad says review of applications began last week, as a member of the search committee, I can verify that review of applications will begin next week. There’s still time to apply!
Please reach out to me with any questions at lcw0045.
Take care,
Lydia
